1. D2L Update:
John O'Brien provided an overview of the current status of the D2L implementation.
2. Discussion of Development Priorities:
Facilitated
by Mark Malecek, the group discusssed a handout showing a list of
development items requested by user groups. The process of determining
what development requests go forward is a campus-driven process. The
list discussed included project titles, level of difficulty, and other
information. The group reviewed each project to understand what was
being requested. Mark presented which items his analysis would suggest
could be completed with available staff, time, and resources. He noted
that the list does not include BPAC items that may have ISRS
development implications, as these have not been finalized. Revision of
the priority list may be needed to support those projects as they move
forward.
The committee recommended the following adjustments to the recommendations presented by staff: (Mark: didn't they make two small tweaks?)
ACTION: The Committee recommended the priority list, as adjusted, be passed forward to Ken Niemi for action and such other consultation as may be needed.
It was agreed that the Academic IT Committee should be consulted when items directly impact faculty.
ACTION: Joanne will be invited to the next Academic IT meeting to discuss the role of faculty in providing input into development priorities.
It was agreed that the development priorities should align with the work plan and that a communication plan should be established so people can get involved in the discussions.
3. Gartner
Joanne
Chabot explained that we have a new arrangement with Gartner to provide
significantly expanded access to Gartner resources.
4. Portal
Joanne reviewed the process by which an OOC portal platform is being selected.
4. Customer Satisfaction Survey
Rick
Hokanson reviewed the current plan for completing the ITS Customer
Satisfaction Survey, as well as the Systemwide IT Success Scorecard. It
was agreed to include specific requests for input from faculty and
students. The group was interested in further exploring the possibility
of using a statistical sampling approach as well. John O'Brien said he
is working with IFO to make sure problems encountered with a previous
faculty survey don't happen again in this instance.
