December 8, 2006 Meeting Notes - Draft
Attendees:
Ray Lou, Linda Skallman, Tim Stoddard, Leslie Mercer, Jan Doebbert, Joanne Chabot, Mike Lopez, Gary Langer, Paul Wasko, Jim Dillemuth, Ken Brumbaugh, Glen Guida (ITV), Mike Seymour (Phone), David PurcellE-signature policy
- Paul Wasko shared an Electronic Signature Policy from Inver Hills Community College. Paul recommended that MnSCU adopt a system wide policy. The committee members all supported the need to support electronic signatures, The policy (or procedure) as defined by Inver Hills, could be adjusted a bit to be consistent with an Identity Management system. It was noted that electronic signatures are already a part of many processes both at the campus and system level. The recommendation was that this should not be identified as policy, but be moved forward for consultation in the Chancellor?s Advisory Council by Ken Neimi and then it be send to Presidents as an updated procedure.
Project Management Office Website
- Jim Dillemuth provided a brief update noting that project information is being included in the website. There is continued recognition that projects as initially documented will be challenged, from a schedule perspective, if scope isn?t managed (or at least documented) so visitors understand why projects may be behind schedule.
Registration Redesign
- David Purcell provided the committee with a demonstration of the new functionality that will be rolled out in the coming months. This presentation has also been shown to other groups/committees. The presentation was very well received by this committee ? a step in the right direction. The same presentation will be given at the CIO meeting (Dec 15).
Identity Management Project
- Ken Brumbaugh presented a recommendation for the format of the unique identifier that will be used within the identity management system. The actual name that will be used on presentation screens will be determined by having OOC marketing provide a recommendation.
