Graduation Planner
• Increase a student’s ability to graduate within the shortest time period.
• Leverage the power of the “System” in meeting student’s needs (if a course is not available at “their” institution it probably is available somewhere in the System)
• To remain competitive with other colleges and universities
• To leverage our existing sets of tools (eg. DARS, CAS, etc) in creative ways
To deploy a web-based tool that allows MnSCU student to plan for completion of their degree. This tool will pull the course and degree program information required to complete all course work leading to graduation in the shortest period of time.
The student will log into the system and complete create a “Graduation Plan”. The student would need to choose a major and minor form the approved list of degree programs. The system would then create a plan, by pulling course availability from the school that the student is registered. The plan would include all pre-requisites needed in order to complete the degree.
Within the graduation plan, a student could select a term. The student would then see which (still) required courses are available within that term.
Advisors will have a view of a student’s graduation plan. Advisors can comment and email a student via the online Graduation Planner.
The tool will allow for any MnSCU campus (if desired).
