Quality Assurance Improvements
The business objectives for improving quality assurance through this project are as follows:
1. To support the successful and timely delivery of major IT initiatives already in progress such as the database conversions.
2. To establish a repeatable, quality assurance process which is a reasonable cost but yet delivers the right quality level of released software, timely.
3. To select a testing tool or tools that will allow for the packaging and reuse of current tests being rewritten. This will allow ITS to leverage current testing being done at the unit and function level. It will enable ITS to rerun tests in a regression environment to identify potential regressions.
4. To increase the quality of the end product and thereby deliver better results to the end customers; the campuses.
In summary: IT is requesting improvements to the existing Quality Assurance function. This would include an increase to the number of dedicated testing resources as well as implementation of IT chosen testing software. This team would comprise of quality assurance analysts, architect analysts, and supervisor. The function would need dedicated testing environments to maximize their effectiveness.
