With our first official Oracle day behind us, we wanted to give you an update of the issues we are working on, some amazing conversion facts, on-demand training opportunities, and a big thank you.
Overall, the conversion was a huge success and went as expected. However, as can be expected with a conversion of this magnitude, we ran into a few issues. Many of these issues have already been resolved, others are in various stages of resolution. We understand that any issue that affects your ability to do your job is a big issue to you and we are rolling out fixes as soon as they are developed.
Core Data Rules: Now that the Core Merge has occurred people are potentially seeing data that they didn't expect to see or that they don't like. With so many students taking classes at multiple institutions, there will be some discrepancies in the data. We all need to work together - Core Data will help your institution keep the most accurate and up-to-date information about your students.
Degree Audit: Currently, Degree Audit Reports are running against data that is accurate as of last Thursday, March 5th. This is an unintentional error. Our DARS programmer was on medical leave yesterday. The situation will be corrected as soon as possible. In the meantime, if students are meeting with advisors and want a new registration reflected on their report, they can print their next summer/fall schedule from the web and bring it along with their degree audit report to the meeting.
- The Core Database consolidation resulted in 6.5 million persons in a single database!
- 246 MILLION financial transactions were brought over from RDB to Oracle; totaling 277 TRILLION dollars!
- Between 5:00 PM Sat. and 5:00 PM Monday, we handled over 800,000 Web App requests with very few reported issues!
- 28,000 financial transactions were processed yesterday during the day shift!
- Since the conversion was completed late Saturday, we have processed 559 online applications!
Below you will find WebEx recordings of the Person Search/Insert and Core Data training that was conducted by the Campus Support Analysts last week. These presentations are full of good information and great questions from our campus users that attended the training. If you have questions about either of these subjects please review these WebEx's.
Also on this page is a document that goes over Student Core Data Fields and a WebEx about Residency Status. And, as always, there is training on various ISRS modules here: http://www.its.mnscu.edu/isrs/indepstudy/index.html.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to all of our campus users for your patience through this conversion process - it has been a long road and your willingness to work with ITS to accomplish this huge task is very much appreciated.
We would also like to thank the campus CIO's and President-appointed Campus Communicators for helping us get the word out to your campus staff. We really appreciate your commitment to keeping your campus users up-to-date.
Thanks everyone!
