Board Policies
The foundation of information security policy across all units of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities is defined by the Board of Trustees in Board Policy 5.23. Relevant Procedures, Standards, and Guidelines are defined in reference to this policy, and receive their authority from that policy, through consultation with stakeholder groups through a meet and confer process, and from the Office of the Chancellor's Chief Information Officer approval.

Procedure 5.22.1 Acceptable Use of Computers and Information Technology Resources
Computer and information technology resources are essential tools in accomplishing the mission of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities and its individual institutions. These resources must be used and managed responsibly in order to ensure their availability for the competing demands of teaching, scholarship, administration and other mission-related uses. This policy establishes responsibilities for acceptable use of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities information technology resources.
